Prof. Dr. Jonathan Sheehan
Prof. Dr. Jonathan Sheehan ist seit 2007 Associate Professor of History an der University of California in Berkeley und hat dort 2012 das Berkeley Center for the Study of Religion gegründet, dem er auch als Direktor vorsteht. Seit 2016 ist er Senior Fellow der Universität Bayreuth.

Prof. Sheehan hat in Berkeley und an der Brown University Geschichte studiert und war u.a. Professor an der Indiana University und der University of Michigan, bevor er 2007 nach Berkeley berufen wurde. Er ist mit zahlreichen US-amerikanischen und europäischen Fellowships und Preisen ausgezeichnet worden, u.a. dem des Wissenschaftskollegs zu Berlin und einem Fellowship am Princeton Center for the Study of Religion – durch die European Union Institutes for Advanced Study, das US-amerikanische National Endowment of the Humanities, die Central European University Budapest, die Herzog August Bibliothek und die Andrew Mellon Foundation.
